Details:

An opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join our team. The role is within a fast paced environment, acting for victims of Clinical Negligence. The role will mainly involve assisting Fee Earners on Multi-Track cases. Paralegals meeting qualifying criteria (performance and conduct) will be considered for a training contract.

Duties:

• Assisting fee earners with day to day case management, including: drafting and sending letters to clients and third parties; drafting legal documents; attending inquests; arranging and attending client interviews and conferences with counsel; preparing bundles for counsel and court; carrying out legal research.
• Dealing with phone calls to and from clients and third parties.
• Dealing with administrative procedures as required.

Skills/Competencies required:

• Excellent communication skills and a good telephone manner;
• The ability to prioritise and organise your work;
• The ability to work to deadlines;
• Working as a member of a team;
• Computer literate (working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word);
• Effective numeracy & literacy skills;
• 2:2 classification law degree (or equivalent) and higher

 Experience:

• Experience of working in a customer focused service and/or legal environment is essential.
