On Saturday 28 September 2013, a group of 52 lawyers and business men and women of Leicester, with their families and friends, led by Mehmooda Duke of Moosa-Duke solicitors, Deputy Vice President of the Leicestershire Law Society, assisted by Ranjit Thaliwal, President of the LLS, walked for 6 hours along the Monsal trail in the Peak District.
The group was made up of lawyers and business men and women from the Fosse Business Breakfast Club and included lawyers from Moosa-Duke Solicitors, Thaliwal Bridge Solicitors and Douglas Wemyss Solicitors.
The businesses included LLS sponsor Finance Lab, Accountants Celerica, Inbound, City Rooms, Evolution Man Andrew Bourne, CPS, Kullar Properties and Hitz Photography.
The team of 52 tackled a tough10 mile hike in the Peak District. The youngest walker was Sara Bhailok aged 14 and the oldest was Nazir Patel aged 65.
The Monsal Trail carves its way through dales, dark forests and along steep rock faces creating a demanding but spectacular route for hikers. The group of 52 worked in teams to navigate the sometimes tricky terrain, completing the challenging hike in around 6 hours.
The hike was to raise money for the Multi-Sensory Unit in The Children and Young People’s Cancer Unit on Ward 27 of the Leicester Royal Infirmary. The Leicester Hospitals Charity aims to provide the best possible facilities and environment for patients, staff and visitors as well as helping to supply state-of-the-art equipment. They are the Charity for all 3 hospitals in Leicester-LeicesterGeneralHospital, Glenfield & Leicester Royal Infirmary.

The money raised so far will have a huge impact on the lives of some of Leicester’s very ill children and young people.
The collaboration of local businesses highlights the community spirit shown by the Fosse Breakfast Club and the sterling charity work they do.

Many of the group had never walked this far before and felt an enormous sense of satisfaction from such and amazing achievement.
The group will continue to raise funds for the charity and will present their cheque to the Leicester Hospitals’ charity in December. By then they hope to have raised £10,000.
