Meningitis

Meningitis is an inflammation of the protective membranes around the brain and spinal cord. It can be caused by a variety of things, including viruses, bacteria, fungi, or parasites.  

Symptoms of meningitis can include high fever, severe headache, stiff neck, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, confusion, and a distinctive rash.  

Failure to diagnose meningitis, or a delay in diagnosing it, could be fatal.
