The Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB) has found that over a dozen hospitals in the UK have oxygen supply systems that are “unbelievably old”. The hospitals found it difficult to cope with surges in demand during the winter and this put patients’ lives at risk. We hope that lessons are learned from the HSIB review and that all UK hospitals are provided with the equipment needed to save lives.
