Members of the Fosse Business Breakfast Club, the Moosa-Duke Solicitors’ team and friends embarked on a 10 mile charity walk in the Peak District on Saturday 13th May 2017 to raise money for the Maria Hanson Foundation (Me & Dee registered charity), which was formed in 2006.

The Maria Hanson Foundation arranges holidays at Mablethorpe Seaside for terminally ill children in order to create special memories for them and their families. In addition to providing a private beach hut to each family at no cost to the recipients, the charity also attempts to cover individual health requirements by accommodating nurses, carers, respirators, dialysis and much more.

The charity extends its offer of holidays to serving and ex serving military personnel who have suffered injuries during service or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and to families who have lost a loved one serving in the military.

The Maria Hanson Foundation is a 2014 Pride of Britain East Midlands Winner, Pride of Britain National Finalist and has received many other awards since its formation. More details can be found at http://www.mariahansonfoundation.org.uk.

Managing Director of Moosa-Duke Solicitors, Ms Mehmooda Duke, is a member of the Fosse Business Club and is extremely supportive of the cause. She is passionate about fundraising for the charity and has played a key role in the organisation and arrangements for the trek. The Moosa-Duke Solicitors team are delighted with the number of people that have signed up to fund-raise and participate in the trek.

Ms Duke has encouraged the walkers to raise as much money as possible for the charity in order to support its efforts in enabling families to share a special, and in some cases a final, holiday together.
