On 20 October 2012 Moosa – Duke Solicitors sponsored a very worthy event hosted by VISTA, Margaret Road, Leicester and organised by TEAMS – a local Leicester Charity.

The event was attended by, amongst many others the Lord Mayor of Leicester, Abdul Osman and Dr Fayyaz Afzal, OBE, Barrister at No 5 Chambers.

The aim of the event was to celebrate the successes of individuals who are visually impaired and registered blind and to raise funds for the charity Vista.  Over £600 was raised on the night. It was both inspiring and humbling to hear the amazing stories which were told by a number of special guests who had either been born blind or become blind later in life.

The words of one of our client’s who was left blind following laser treatment to his eyes still echo in our ears – ‘if ever you are having a bad day and don’t feel like coming to work – just remember people like me need people like you.’  Mr PD. Edinburgh.
