MRSA – Client Receives Compensation

Posted By admin - 24th February 2012

Moosa – Duke Solicitors have this week secured compensation for a client in a claim for medical negligence against a hospital in Leicestershire. Our client received treatment at the hospital which required the insertion of a cannula into his arm; he was subsequently discharged but became very poorly which led to his re-admission into hospital. He was diagnosed with an infection (MRSA) for which he required further treatment. It was alleged that our client acquired the infection because hospital staff had failed to comply with the hospital’s skin disinfectant procedure prior to the cannulation. The hospital denied liability but settled the case.
